LYNNEL Art to Form
Overview
In working with the University of Connecticut Health Center, we produced a wide range of original artworks based on a variety of plants for a 9-story new construction. LYNNEL worked with the designer to provide a comprehensive coordinated art package from the main entrances and common areas to patient floors and waiting rooms.
Goals
Integrated Artwork, Thoughtful Incorporation.
Leading into the emergency department, the designer wanted to provide an integrated, calming effect. To achieve this, the art was modified to complement the aesthetic of the stone used in the corridor.
Throughout the hospital, White-on-White imagery was incorporated to add an element of privacy.
Process
Wayfinding
Commissioned Botanic Artwork
Commissioned artwork of a variety of plants was used for branding and wayfinding. Each floor had a corresponding plant and color-way. On each floor, one version of a plant was used in the backlit elevator lobby, and a coordinated version was used at the nurse station.
