Overview
An inspiring commission with a creative client! I was invited to Las Vegas for a site visit at the client’s residence. The architecture offered many challenges; the kind of challenges my work is created for! We had several locations as possibilities, but decided to start with the mid level staircase. The abundance of natural light welcomed the surfaces of my sculpture and would create dramatic ever-changing metallic glints in the glazes as you walked up or down the staircase.
“Toile en Céramique” measures 60 x 90 x 3.5″ and is Raku ceramic & polished aluminum.
Goals
Our primary focus was to blend the client's art collection & aesthetic to culminate into a sculpture that would add drama to the contemporary/modern residence.
