Overview
An apostrophe is a dramatic term, used when an actor on stage addresses and absent person. This was selected as the title because the works are commemorative.
Goals
Each piece represents a lost person. Though not a portrait, the image is intended to convey the person, their life and loves.
Process
We first worked from stories, interviews and photographs of each subject. Then I spent time on the land. The human figure and landscape are combined in a way that evokes memory and continuity.
