Overview
A small luxury studio apartment space was tastefully decorated using just two antique rugs, one from Persia and one from the Caucasian region. The handwoven rugs made for self-use over a hundred years ago added identity to the space and transformed it into a stimulating living area.
Goals
To infuse identity and character into a small standard common living space.
Process
The client approached us to to source an artwork for a small studio apartment in Mumbai. The brief was initially vague but after a few discussions we converged on the requirement that the artwork selected would infuse character and a unique identity into an otherwise plain space. Several rounds of presentations of category options, shortlisting and presentation of individual artworks resulted in a very satisfying selection of two outstanding rugs. Technical execution followed and a year later, these remain the soulful attraction of the home-museum space.
Additional Information
1) The project was carried out across 2 countries and 2 time zones. 2) The initial discussions were conducted remotely only online through video calls. 3) The structured stages of the process of briefing, initial proposal, category shortlisting, technical discussions, artwork shortlisting, selection & finalisation led to a successful implementation.
