Overview
Vitreous enamel on steel panel, 24 x 24 x 1″, In the shape of louvers I used screen printing enamels to hand paint the state tree, bird, wildflower and butterfly of four of the states that saw the biggest population growth after the advent of affordable domestic air conditioning. Clockwise from top are Texas, Georgia, Florida and Arizona. It is now most fittingly in the collection of the Houston Airports. Executed at KVO industries in Santa Rose, CA.

Not commissioned, but purchased for the Houston Public Airports by the Houston Arts Commission.
