Overview
Adapting Conditions was created to provide an immersive physical environment. It is
6 feet 9.75 inches x 36 feet x 54 feet suspended 9 feet 6 inches above stage floor. The materials are beeswax, tree resin, muslin, brass, steel, wood, nylon line.
Goals
Moments. We seek them and our desire to gently lay them with our other keepsakes is palpable. The site-responsive installation created for this new contemporary theater contemplates fluctuation moments in nature that exist below the surface. The unseen, occurring over different time, scale and dimension, exists in relationship with us. It is the connection this environment manifests.
Process
The collaboration was a dynamic experience for all. The clients offered a blank slate for me to realize an all inclusive project. The three of us quickly acknowledged a sound and lighting component were needed with the clients securing our other collaborators. Our expanded team was perfect. Each member work with ease with quickly understanding ideas presented and each realizing their contribution creatively, fiscally and within all time perimeters.
