Freyja Bardell is a visual artist. Over the past decade she has collaborated with studio partner, Brian Howe, through the studio name Greenmeme. She creates site specific immersive installations that tell environmental stories of people and places. She embarks on a conceptual journey by immersing her physical and psychological self into the environment. She sets platforms for community storytelling, and social discourse around subjects of environmental protection and celebration, health and wellbeing and the power of creative voice. The concept building phase is documented though group conversation, sketches, photography and video. This visual catalogue is used to create connected, integrated and fantastical three dimensional artworks and theatrical sets. She is an active member of the Art Directors Guild of America. Over the last decade, they have exhibited nationally and internationally, including the Zero1 Art and Technology Biennial, Horizons Arts/Nature Festival, Make Art With Purpose and the Glow Festival. Greenmeme has been published in Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Surface Magazine, Detail, Public Art Review.
