Arthur Stern studied architecture at the University of Illinois, and environmental design at California College of the Arts. A specialist in collaboration with other design professionals, Stern has commissions in thirty-six U.S. states, as well as Japan, Hong Kong, and Canada. His work has earned numerous awards (AIA, IFRAA, BENE) and has been widely published. Primarily an architectural glass artist, Stern also creates bas-relief sculpture, freestanding sculpture, painting on board and canvas, and works on paper. His evolving design vocabulary combines geometry with shapes from nature and symbols appropriate to the function of the building.
