Brief Description

As part of the South San Francisco Caltrain Station Improvement a new pedestrian tunnel and half acre plaza will be built at the intersection of Grand Ave. and Airport Blvd. As the cornerstone of a new transit hub in South San Francisco, this plaza is imagined to anchor the eastern end of historic downtown. The City of South San Francisco seeks an artist, or artist team, to create the design and commission for public artwork to be located at the newly renovated SSF Caltrain Station. The identity of the city as represented by its heritage and culture should be manifested in the art work. The selected artist or artist team will receive a commission of up to $500,000 maximum.
