The artwork for this campus project should strike a balance between complementing the architecture while serving as a prominent feature. There is a strong interest in acquiring a signature work of art that becomes a center piece for the campus. A piece that becomes an iconic landmark that recognizes the educational mission of WCSU and its role as a community asset for the greater Danbury region. A work of art that incorporates language and numbers may be appropriate for this site as Higgins Hall is the home to both the English and Mathematics Department. Therefore, an artist may consider an engaging piece with language and mathematical formulas. The University is considering various locations for a work of art, both interior and exterior. A multi-story atrium may be a good location for a suspended sculpture, the entrance lawn may provide an opportunity for a sculptural piece, or the committee may consider other locations throughout the building and overall site.
