Brief Description
The Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture (Arts and Culture)’s Civic Art Program seeks an artist or artist team to create an artwork as a feature wall within the main lobby of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Behavioral Health Center (MLK BHC), constructed on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Medical Center. The commissioned artwork must be sensitive to the complex historical and political contexts that define Willowbrook and the MLK, Jr. Medical Center campus. The artworks should foster a sense of community and humanity, be innovative in their approach, and will be experienced by patients, staff, and visitors alike. The artwork should convey a welcoming presence as the two-part feature wall in the MLK Jr., Behavioral Health Center’s main entrance. https://www.lacountyarts.org/opportunities/civic-artists-request-qualifications/martin-luther-king-jr-behavioral-health-center
