The Goddard/Communications public art committee is seeking a work of art that connects to the programs, and students who utilize the building while serving as an asset to the greater campus. The committee is looking for a work of art that celebrates student “connections” throughout their educational journey at Eastern Connecticut State University. An artwork for this site should be energetic, positive, and forward-thinking. It may consider mind and body connections along with the role of technology and communication in our world. At this time the committee is focusing on interior spaces for suspended and/or wall mounted works of art. The preference is to place artwork at both ends of the site, possibly a suspended sculptural work in the lobby of Goddard Hall and a wall mounted and/or digitally-based work in the lobby of Communications. In addition to the end spaces, the central stairway that connects the two buildings is another possible location.
