  • Brief Description

    The City of Hurst designed the Art in Public Places Initiative to expand cultural programs within the community. The program’s mission is to enhance the beauty and vibrancy of the City, promote community pride, and bring art to unexpected places. The City of Hurst seeks to commission new artwork for a visually prominent location in the community.


    The art piece may be an existing piece, one of a kind, or part of a limited edition, or created as a new piece, which could be one of a kind or the first number in a limited edition, with restrictions on the proximity of subsequent numbers in the edition. This commission will represent renewed interest in public art in the Hurst Community. It is expected to generate pride and interest in public art to enhance the community’s quality of life. The budget for the project is approximately $90,000 – 100,000.
