The Village of Oak Park is seeking proposals for a sculpture/obelisk to be located at the southeast corner of South Blvd. and Oak Park Ave., and be the highlight of a public gathering space. The vision for the piece is to serve as a beacon of the area, and be a distinguishing feature not only to Oak Park, but the business district that the project will reside in. The viaduct art installation will be located on both sides of the viaduct walls between North and South Blvd. on Oak Park Ave. The piece should have a significant lighting component, and create an inviting and comfortable space for pedestrians. It should also serve as a connection between the southern half of the business district and the northern half.

The budget for the sculpture/obelisk is currently $50,000, and the budget for the viaduct art installation is currently $200,000. The budget for both pieces is flexible and the Village is open to increasing the budget depending on the proposal.
