The City of Pompano Beach will commission an artist or team of artists for a work for hire mural to be installed on an exterior southeast stairwell located on the Pompano Beach Pier Parking Garage next to the Pompano Beach Tourism Center, 3460 NE 3rd St, Pompano Beach, FL 33062. The Parking Garage is next to the beach and across from the Pompano Beach Pier. The mural should represent the area. It is important to note that the Pompano Beach Parking Garage currently has a permanent vinyl mural located on the building by artist team Mike and Donna-Lee Savlen entitled A Place I’d Rather Be. The proposed mural should be cohesive to this mural including similar colors and aquatic in nature.The design should have a strong presence with a concept that is creative. A site visit is not required but is recommended. The materials, design, and palette must stand up to local weather and be amenable to ongoing maintenance.
