Brief Description
The selection committee has identified two potential placements for artwork in the lobby. The wall directly across from the entrance doors, and a seating area near the windows to the left of the entrance. Site images of each are included below. The selected project will interpret the form of the olive-oil lamp, a symbol of nursing since Florence Nightingale first carried it during the Crimean war. Both relief and freestanding sculptural interpretations of this theme will be considered. Artists are encouraged to approach this theme through any style, conceptual framework, and medium. Artwork should enhance and compliment the architectural elements and visually support the purpose of the Nursing and Allied Health Building.
