Brief Description

The Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture Public Art Program is requesting qualifications from artists for to up to four major new public art commissions. These will be design-team opportunities to develop significant artworks that help define the look and feel of new Sky Train Stage 2 stations and a related Ground Transit Center for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PSHIA). The chosen artists will work with a team of engineers, architects and other professionals to design the system, which will link all airport terminals and the PSHIA rental-car center with the city’s light rail line. Sky Train Stage 2 will include multiple opportunities for artworks integrated into the platforms, walls, weather screens, and other architectural features. The selection panel will be looking for visionary professionals with the experience to undertake complex projects.
