Brief Description

The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Public Art Commission is seeking an artist to design and create a permanent sculpture for the newly constructed Paddison Memorial Library in Kernersville, NC. Kernersville is a growing town of approximately 25,000 located in eastern Forsyth County. Incorporated in 1871, Kernersville is known for its historic downtown as well Körner's Folly, a historic and eccentric brick home, which is now a museum. Kernersville is associated with the honeybee, which was named North Carolina’s state insect at the urging of a Kernersville resident several decades ago. The town’s Honeybee festival has been an annual event since 1975.
