Brief Description

The City and County of Honolulu Commission on Culture and the Arts desires to commission an exterior work of art for the new Hau‘ula Fire Station, 54-282 Kamehameha Highway, Hau‘ula, O‘ahu, Hawai‘i 96717. This Request for Qualifications is open to all artists, or artist teams, qualified to work for the City and County of Honolulu. The determined area of art opportunity the selected artist may use is a free-standing exterior concrete masonry unit wall approximately six feet high above grade in two sections joined with an outside corner; the long leg is 35 feet wide and faces east towards Kamehameha Highway, the short leg is 22 feet wide and faces south towards Kawaipuna Street; for a work of art that is affixed to the wall of an outdoor durable material. The budget for the artwork project is $72,000.00, all-inclusive.
