Brief Description

The City of Denver's Public Art Program seeks to commission an artist or team of artists to create an original public artwork for the Colorado Convention Center Expansion. A selection panel of community representatives, arts and culture professionals, and civic leaders has been assembled to identify art opportunities and to select and recommend an artist or artist team for this project. The selection panel has identified a lobby ceiling for a suspended artwork. The project budget is approximately $900,000.00 USD. The new artwork will be part of the Colorado Convention Center's current collection of 31 public artworks by local, national, and international artists. The collection includes: "Indeterminate Line" by Bernar Venet and the iconic "I See What You Mean," a.k.a The Big Blue Bear, by Lawrence Argent.
