Brief Description

This is a commissioning of new work by the Leesburg Center for the Arts in partnership with the City of Leesburg. The goal of the project is to use the Public Art Screening to conceal the Lift Stations from view and provide aesthetically pleasing streetscape elements. The artwork should be unique, engaging for passersby, reflective of the community, and not easily scaled. The screening will be placed around several sides of two Lift Stations along a heavily traveled roadway. There are to be 5 screen panels total and each is a different size. The Public Art screening will be placed in front of existing chain link fence enclosures to screen the entirety of the fence encloser and Lift Station. The screen panels are to be free standing. They will not be connected to or lean against the chain link fence. The materials need to withstand a high traffic, public environment, and be capable of withstanding adverse weather conditions common to the state of Florida.
