Brief Description

Texas A&M University announces an open competition for professional artists or artist teams to commission a site specific public art installation honoring Texas A&M University’s mascot, Reveille, a Rough Collie breed dog.

Reveille has been the mascot of Texas A&M since 1931, and she is known as the First Lady of Aggieland. Miss Rev, as she is affectionately called, is the highest-ranking member in the Corps of Cadets and wears five silver diamonds (the Corps Commander wears four). The current Reveille is the ninth dog to fill the role of mascot. Learn more about Reveille.

The installation will reside on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station, Texas, in a high traffic area outside the university’s football stadium, Kyle Field, and near the resting place of all former Reveille mascots, Reveille Memorial. Installation is projected for February–April 2022.
