Brief Description

The City of Riverside is located in the migration flyway for Monarch butterflies. The three goals for this commissioned art are to: 1) Raise awareness of this area as important for Monarch migration and educate about the necessity of pollinators for the health of our environment. 2) Create a “Monarch Migration Walk” along the Line Creek Trail that draws pedestrians and bicyclists into E.H. Young Riverfront Park and from the Park to explore the trail. 3) Increase visitation to the City of Riverside by bringing artistic interest to and beautification of the City and creating a unique educational attraction. The selection panel will select from 1‐3 artists to provide the commissioned art for the 3 identified locations along the Line Creek Trail and in E.H. Young Riverfront Park. The City will provide $15,000 for the purchase of each piece of art. Payment will be made once the art has been delivered and installed.
