Brief Description

The City of Worcester is seeking proposals from interested and qualified artists and designers for the creation of a series of public art features. Main Street Reimagined will complement the reconstruction of Worcester's Main Street as a Complete Street, scheduled for the 2018-19 timeframe. From north to south, the 1+ mile long Main Street reconstruction project extends from the intersections of Chandler Street/Madison Street in the south to Lincoln Square (Highland St/Belmont St) in the north. The reconfigured Main Street will feature bicycle lanes, widened sidewalks, and new streetscape similar to other recently completed street upgrades in downtown Worcester, featuring street trees, street furnishings, concrete sidewalks with red brick pattern edge banding, and black decorative lighting fixtures and street furniture.
