Brief Description

The project, called Allard Square, is a four-story 39-unit affordable senior housing building on Market Street in South Burlington’s new City Center. This project will be the first apartment building developed in City Center, which the City envisions as a new downtown blending existing neighborhoods, commercial areas, and natural areas with increased connectivity to support an integrated mix of housing, retail and employment. The opportunities for public art are located in front of the building or integrated into the building, and should be visible from the sidewalk on Market Street. Proposed projects should be sculptural/fine art based rather than functional in nature; i.e. no benches or bike racks will be entertained for this site. Durability and low/no maintenance are important for this location.
