Brief Description

The artwork will commemorate the history and ongoing connection of the Mississauga people of Alderville First Nation with the land now known as the City of Kingston. Artists who work in a diverse range of mediums as well as contemporary and customary (traditional) disciplines are welcome to apply. We welcome artists and/or team members with Anishinaabeg ancestry and all First Peoples. An artwork proposal is not requested at this time. Through this RFI process, the City of Kingston will identify up to five artists or artist led teams who will be invited to interview with the City and members of the Alderville First Nation, and receive a RFP and a stipend of $2000.00 to produce a design concept, as well as travel to the City of Kingston for an interview with first nation and city representatives.
