Brief Description

Monarch View Park will be located along Koehn Drive and Fall Harvest Drive in Frisco, TX. The site is currently undeveloped. A design has been approved and construction will begin later this year. The artist chosen for the Monarch View Public Art Project will be expected to create an artwork inspired by monarch butterflies. The park name was chosen by the community based on sightings of the butterflies on the property. Artists are also encouraged to consider the plants essential to their habitats. The public art at Monarch View Park should: Be a freestanding, outdoor public artwork suitable to be viewed from all angles. Represent the site as described above. Be welcoming to visitors and safe and hazard-free. Be made of low-maintenance, durable materials that are resistant to vandalism. All materials must be approved by City of Frisco staff. Special attention should be given to potential heat issues in the summer months.
