Brief Description

PROJECT SUMMARY The Student Services Center currently is under construction and consists of a new 11,000 square-foot addition and the renovation of 11,000 square-feet in the existing space. Student services will be consolidated into the space. ARTISTIC OBJECTIVES The committee is interested in an interior statement piece, pieces, or permanent installation. In order for the piece to be durable, safe, and cost effective to maintain, media selections will be limited to fade-resistant and easily cleanable materials such as plastics, metals, glass, stone, wood, brick, and tile. Soft materials subject to fading such as textiles and paper are not suitable for the sun-lit environment. PROJECT SITE The artwork will be located in the light-filled and airy corridor that will greet and usher students through the Center. The Committee would like art that hangs above the corridor with emphasis on the spaces near the vestibule areas. The art should fill the space with color.
