Overview

Yip, Yip, Yip, Galvanized steel, 11’ x 7’ x 10’, Petaluma, CA.

Yip, Yip, Yip is a homage to Petaluma California’s Grey Fox population.

Symbolically, the fox appears in the folklore of many cultures as a figure of cunning and trickery, or as a familiar animal possessed of magic powers. The Fox is emblematic of magic, and is a quintessential symbol of good luck!

Goals

Public Art creates a social conversation through the use of sign and symbol. Art landmarks, such as Yip, Yip, Yip, create a energy between the art, the site and the public.

The approach for every project begins by emphasizing the point of view, perspective, and scale of the site itself. Make it impactful, make it theatrical, and integrate it into the surrounding environment.

Process

Nelson Public provides original design for public, private, and corporate collectors. Studio services range from the initial concept to the fabrication and installation of the final artwork.

As an artist with over 20 years of Public Art experience, Nelson Public Art has successfully collaborated with other fabricators, contractors, municipalities, engineers, and the general public.
