Overview
I created these pieces for the main lobby of the Wyckoff Height's Medical Center in Brooklyn. They represent a celebration of life. I used hand cut origami paper and foil paper layered together like a collage assembled on top of canvas. The two larger works are 72″ x 72″ and the smaller works are 36″ x 36″
Goals
I wanted to create something beautiful but not over the top for the lobby. Since it's a waiting area I wanted to make something that could draw a viewer in for a longer period of time, but also not be demanding of a patient's attention since I want to remain respectful to the visitors.
Process
I was put in touch with the Wyckoff Height's Medical Center by the Bushwick City Councilman. I then talked with the VP and CEO of the hospital to create designs that were suitable for the space.
Additional Information
Blessed to have this opportunity! Hope this pieces impact people positively. They impacted me in an inspiring and healing way while creating them.
