Overview
Original artwork direction resulting in site-specific interior mural visible from both inside and outside the co-working establishment used to attract foot traffic and create a vibrant presence amidst the bland backdrop of the financial district within San Francisco. The artwork portrays the equally valuable “hot” and “cool” moments that go into any production flow.
Goals
The overall piece was to be a focal point within the design of the interior environment attracting both attention and curiosity to the purpose of the space within. Colors of the mural were selected from brand colors and the images of the mural became an integral component to the overall branding. Anticipating a proper view of the final piece, client and architecture firm planned open area around the artwork thus making it more inviting to look at.
Process
Architect principal at Martinkovic Milford Architects made the introduction direct to client (Workshop Cafe) who was already a fan of the artists (Erik Otto) artwork. Together they discussed directly the best way to produce a piece of artwork that everyone would be proud of that connected the ethos of the new company with the energy of Otto's work.
