Overview
Project was designed to recreate the illusion of a water feature which was removed from the Hospital Lobby for safety reasons. It is 30 feet high, 17 feet in diameter. 400 blades of “Grass”Several hundred “water” elements made of heat formed “Varia” thermoplastic.There are also 2 theatrical light fixtures aimed into the mobile, to create a waterfall effect.
Goals
The Water feature was important to the ambiance of the Lobby. Goals were Increased safety, keeping the feeling of water and improving the area with art
Process
The consultant and the hospital art coordinator provided the parameters and much logistical assistance, including an installation staff.
Additional Information
I was very pleased with the outcome of this project, it is one of my finest works. I got to include Theatrical lighting into this, because the budget was generous.
