Overview
The large mural is located along Alabama Drive, a busy street located at the foothills of the Franklin Mountains in El Paso, TX. As part of the overall design, the mural includes desert plans and wildlife that are commonly seen in the area, specifically the Franklin Mountains which include the Mexican Gold Poppies, wolfs, a hawk, and different native plant species. The idea of the mural is to “seen” and be integrated into the surrounding landscape and nature so the area might look absent of all the human-made development in the area.
Goals
Window to the Franklins is designed to show the natural beauty of the Franklin Mountains and encourages the public to interact with public art. When seen from across the street, the mural follows he mountains and landscape in the background, creating a seamless integration between nature, art and the community.
