Overview
Detail: 1 of 8 fused plus stained glass panels. The transparency of the artwork allows for the natural sunlight of Florida to shine through the textured and multi-colored glass. These windows embrace mystery and spirituality at the same time.
Goals
The work was created for a senior center. Uplifting floral motif with a ribbon as a metaphor to represent connection with people.
Process
Working with the architect and director of the new Renaissance Senior Center, we decided to create clerestory windows. Inspired by the beauty of Florida's bright colors, I chose to create abstract flowers with each window joined by a ribbon of purple. THis is a metaphor for the connectivity of the seniors visiting the center.
