Overview
Project for Exeter Festival of Arts 2014 The design was inspired by the historical agriculture of the area emphasizing Emperor Grapes. This design included many produce labels that were a part of the local community. The dimensions of the mural were 13'Hx43L'. Materials used included Nova Gel for the brick cover, Nova acrylic paint, and then sealed with Nova exterior varnish.
Goals
The goals of the mural was to meet the requirements of the Exeter Festival of Arts which included highlighting Emperor Grapes and particular grape labels.
Process
Met with members of the committee and went over multiple images that would inspire the artist. The committee also gave photos that were to be incorporated into the mural. The committee provided a lift to be used on site. Had assistance from two other painters to help complete.
Additional Information
The wall needed repair and adjustments to fill the deep grooves in the grout so that paint could be applied smoothly. Nova Gel was used for this purpose.
