Overview
WE THE PEOPLE celebrates life and the human spirit, building bonds between people and the communities where we live, work and play. WE THE PEOPLE model’s a world where empathy and mutual support enable people to flourish, leading lives infused with passion, purpose, love and creativity – a world of freedom, harmony, prosperity, and compassion.
Goals
The Concept: The overarching goal is to create community unity. WE THE PEOPLE is composed of adults and children, female and male of differing shapes and sizes - one is pregnant, one is in a wheelchair. Their vibrant colors symbolize all races. They have come together in support of each other bringing Doves of Peace to release.
The Vision: To join the community together to create healing and promote Oneness through a public artwork that features love, equality, unity, and connection.
The Objective: To install WE THE PEOPLE in prominent publicly accessible place. This interactive monumental public artwork models a world of unity and equality, promoting connection and inspiring a transformation in race relations.
Process
WE THE PEOPLE is a collaborative project of the Friends of Unity, Canneto Studios and Peter Stork.
The sculpture’s copyrighted design was created and donated by Canneto Studios. The structural engineering services were donated by Peter Stork.
