Overview
The art is a wood wall relief ( 25″ H X 15' W X 3″ D ) placed on an overhead panel in the WIC lobby of the Department of Health in Melbourne, FL. The wood grain is visible through the oil paint on most shapes, adding a warm, natural quality. The addition of pealized paint adds softness to the appearance of the art.
Goals
The WIC clinic provides medical services for women with children under the age of five. The art illustrates the powerful emotional bond between mothers, babies and small children. The figures are loving, peaceful and multi-cultural. The soothing blue waves represent a serene and helpful environment. Hopefully, everyone who enters this facility will find something they can relate to in the art.
