Overview
It begins with clear glass droplets depicting the pure crystal waters at its source.
Undulating gently, multicolored petals reflect Roseville's plethora of native leaves and flowers.
Streaming downward in dance, clear droplets become filled with tiny bubbles as they plunge five stories to the bottom.
To represent the evolution and dynamics of water drops that form a waterfall, Tanaka used the hot glass technique to hand-sculpt all the clear and bubble-filled droplets.

Goals
The goal of this project was to beautify the five story main stairway of the new medical offices building. In the narrow 64 ft tall space, the glass suspended sculpture’s theme was a free falling waterfall with a sense of healing. The vertically long suspended piece was required to have a subtle connection to the theme colors of each floor’s interior design, which was realized with accent dichroic glass shapes in between the clear glass splashes.
