Overview
This hand-blown, wall-mounted sculptural glass leaves composition was designed & created for the new spa at the Viejas Casino & Resort in Alpine, CA, just east of San Diego, CA. The composition is approximately 8'H x 6'W.
Goals
It was commissioned to be the focal artwork in the main entry to the new spa & to evoke a sense of calm & serenity. The composition was designed to feel like a "waterfall" of leaves & capture the effect of leaves cascading down the wall gently curling & twisting as they "float" towards the floor.
Process
I worked together with the art consultant to incorporate feedback from the client into the design stages while still maintaining the project goals & design integrity.
