Overview
The images on these screen reflect the history and topography of this coastal town. Each screen is made up of three panels and are 4m x 2m (13' x 6.5'). The ceramic images are printed on both the inside and outside of the laminate, enabling them to light up at night.
Goals
The goal of this project was to convert a small triangular area adjacent to the sea front into a public space and venue for a range of events and performances in an outdoor setting. The panels also have a wind breaking function.
Process
The use of this special ceramic to enable these panels to light up at night, is groundbreaking. The project was greatly admired by the local community. The purpose of this work, like much public realm work, is to help create a welcoming gathering place.
