Overview
Art in the lobby of a cancer treatment center, brightens the space to bring lightness and joy to the patients and clinic staff. Finished piece is 20 feet wide, 13.5 feet tall. Made of resin, stainless steel, wood and paint.
Goals
As the art is 3-dimensional and made of transparent resin, the finished piece looks different from every angle. Each person, depending on where they view the art- from right, left, beneath or outside, will experience a different composition. As people often will spend a lot of time in the waiting area, the art is designed to be an intriguing, beautiful distraction.
Process
The finished piece is a product of collaboration between the artist, client, and fabricators. The client saw and approved every stage of the design process, from the color palettes and material samples, to fully rendered drawings.
