Overview

Monoprint image of Dragonfly, separate panels enlarged with each printed on “Moxie” aluminum panels, overall size 97″ x 72″ installed in new locally sustained cafe at the University of Vermont Medical Center located in Burlington, VT

Goals

The organic focus of the cafe - partially sustained by its own roof garden - was a natural pairing of Dragonfly and its botanical and garden insect elements. The aluminum panel system offers a durable surface for the location, UV protected, and washable, but also adds to the translucence of the monoprint process.

Process

Kerri Macon with Burlington City Arts (BCA) worked directly with the UVMMC in assisting with the art selection. The artist worked closely with BCA to determine the size of each of the six panels, working together to arrive at final overall size.
