2019. 24'x48'x4″ 4-story installation along stairwell at Facebook office in Seattle.
Hand cut and airbrushed plywood. Created for the Facebook Artist in Residence Program.
The art was created specifically for a new Facebook building in South Lake Union in Seattle. The goal of this piece was to activate the open stairwell wall as well as encourage people to use the stairwell.
Upon agreeing on the commission, Andy Arkley produced several digital mockups of how the piece would look in the space. Once the designs were finalized - the piece was fabricated by Andy Arkley in Tulsa, OK - and then shipped to Seattle for installation. The piece was installed over a period of a week alongside several construction crews that were finalizing the rest of the building.
This project was part of the Facebook Artist in Residence Program. The program commissions artists to create original art for Facebook properties.
