Overview
“Through the Window” is about transitioning through the year 2020 into a new era of undiscovered possibilities and opportunities. This work resonates with the many challenges encountered while crossing into this new terrain. It also explores the theme of leaving the past behind while opening to greater levels of brightness.
Materials: Wire mesh, multi-layered paint.
Dimensions: 23 x 65.75 x 3.5 inches.
Goals
The goal of this project was to enrich, enhance, and enliven a principal living room area. The artwork needed to cover a wide area of wall-space, and to integrate well with the varied elements already present within this space.
Process
This artwork was designed and fabricated through an intuitive process, using industrial wire mesh. “Through the Window” was sculpted and finished with a multi-layered painting process: all elements were created and constructed by the artist.
