Overview
9 foot tall marble portrait statue of trial lawyer Thomas Kline for the Kline Institute of Law at Drexel University, Philadelphia.
Goals
This is a centerpiece for the entrance and designed to compliment the existing architecture.
Process
I worked closely and in harmony with the subject Thomas Kline, Jay Tackett, architect and company, and Nicola Stagetti, master marble carver in Pietrasanta, Italy.
Additional Information
This piece was modeled in clay, waste molded, cast in plaster, 3D scanned, then carved in white Carrara marble using a CNC robotic milling machine in Italy. Weeks were then spent fine tuning and detailing the marble by hand, using sections of the original plaster artwork as reference.
