Overview

Monument scale, depiction of the Lost Sheep parable. 133% life-size, shown mostly in clay, was commissioned, sculpted, cast in bronze and installed at a Christian University campus in Southern CA in Spring of 2022.

Goals

This work was the third of the trilogy on Campus, the first was The Prodigal Son, created by the late Alan Collins. I was asked to create the second: The Lost Coin, completed in 2015.

Process

I'm blessed to have excellent foundry and support services in Loveland CO

Additional Information

I wanted to make the olive tree look alive so I had to create olive leaves and fruits directly in wax, which went directly to shell and cast and welded in place in bronze. No mold.
