Overview
As the plaque on the wall says, “This mural celebrates Catasauqua’s role in the development of Pennsylvania’s anthracite iron industry and casts a hopeful look to our future.” This was a really interesting and rewarding project. The local organization Main Streets hired me to transform this wall at the main intersection of Catasauqua’s main street.
The mural is 35 by 50 and was executed using only high quality spray paint.
Goals
The clients motto is "Revitalization through art & beautification" and I was honored to be a part of their mission. They felt that using my surreal, illustrative and contemporary style to represent a character of their rich past would be an interesting way to engage the public and also bring awareness to their history while providing a thought provoking and colorful visual to enhance the town and bring hope for their future.
