Overview

Our newest installation, The ARRAY, still has that new car smell. An interactive, multi-disciplinary, immersive art installation designed to demonstrate a simple, but effective, solar system in a dazzling display of video, light and sound, this new artwork has it all.

In its simplest explanation, The ARRAY is a homage to a solar power system. Key components emulate the sun(source element), solar panels(capture element), a power grid(the distribution element) and a battery(the storage element). The sun’s beams/rays strike the panels, activating animations that flow into the power grid and eventually end at the battery. Users interact with the installation by becoming the suns rays, furthering exploring our journey toward a sustainable future instigated by each of us.

Process

As always, Big Art teamed up with a number of collaborators to bring this project to life. From Touch Designer programming, to custom animation and production design, we've thrown everything we know at it.
