Goals
The Tapestry project is a suite of 31 thick, fused glass windows for Xavier University Chapel. The windows’ woven pattern alludes to a ceremonial Kente cloth used by priests during mass, a precious relic bestowed to the chapel. The rich flesh-toned and red-infused numerical color scheme draws inspiration from the Holy Trinity.
In the effort to humanize the grand space, varying sized areas of color were subtracted and replaced with clear glass, creating a glittering pathway of light beaming through and culminating in each window’s uniqueness.
