Overview
4′ X 2′ X 24′, created from aluminum gold wire.
Goals
The client wished to have a dance-inspired work. I brought up the idea of incorporating music, and she suggested the Debussy's "Afternoon of a Faun". While listening to this particular piece the gold palette became clear to me, as well as series of circular shapes which manifested in the wire. I manifested the idea of a pas de deux as a sculpture of two wires dancing along the wall.
Process
I was approached by the architect of a newly renovated home to enliven the front hall space. Being 26' long, I envisioned my piece to "dance" across the beautiful birch wall. My associate Kina and I (little bit about your experimentation with material), which ended up manifesting itself in the work.
